ASPT, Tuesday with the team, Bimble and then a race Sunday. So much to look forward to this week, not to mention the better weather and light evenings. What a time to be a runner. Keep up the great work Lou, any issues let me know. Nice to have an extra rest day too.

Hills can really build your strength as well as improve your running form. This session is tough but will really help you make big gains. Use the downhill as a light recovery jog, so exact recovery times can be flexible.

Hill efforts are really tough at the time and you want it to end but afterwards feel really good! I was very tired tonight but still a solid performance. I’m glad I came โ˜บ๏ธ
You smashed it Lou, they are tough but hopefully come Sunday you’ll feel confident that are better prepared to tackle the hills than those around you. Great to have you along as always.

I had to create a new session for you guys. Have fun. 60 mins easy is perfect in terms of training load. Don’t forget those strides as well (if highlighted)

A nice easy one as prescribed. Beautiful glittering sea and evening sky tonight along the seafront. Perfect.. Job done
Just what the doctor ordered close to Sunday’s race. Awesome work Lou

WU is key. CD not as important, but if you have done a fast 10 miles it’s recommended. Also if going for a quick one including drills and strides (4 bonus pts) is worth while too.

Knowing your goal pace beforehand is important and ensuring you don’t go off too quick is crucial. Obviously that will be determined by the elevation of the route. But I’m always happy to discuss pacing strategies and race tactics beforehand.

Good Luck!! You got this ๐Ÿ’ช

I was really prepared today, did my warm up and felt positive, ready and strong. I found it really good all the way round but it got tough around mile 6 and 7 then was ok again. Mark was a good motivator here. It felt like I ran the race really well but disappointingly I didn’t make as fast a time as last year. That’s the one thing about running I don’t like – always comparing to previous attempts at a route rather than being proud of that day’s effort! Yet I can’t stop myself from doing this ๐Ÿ˜ง Great to see you and Jax around the route – always a welcome boost. Thank you.
We can choose what we compare our performances against. You could choose last years time or go back further and pick a time when running a really hilly 10 mile race wasn’t possible. So I think it’s important to take the positives from the day and that’s how you felt and got round in a decent time. I’m sure there will be a few races coming up where you do beat your time from last year. Both times I saw you on the route you looked super strong. So really well done Lou
