Week Commencing: 13 July 26

Choose Day๐Ÿ‘‡

  • Monday
  • Tuesday
  • Wednesday
  • Thursday
  • Friday
  • Saturday
  • Sunday

I’ve eased it back a little this week to give you rest after the 10k. But we still have the long run and a parkrun in there. So a good week, but without pushing too hard ahead of the Pier to Pier. Any issues let me know. But keep up the great work Allan.

If some of the sets/reps are too demanding at first, just do what you can, you can always build up to 60s slowly. Wall sits and planks in particular can be tough, so just go to the point you feel you need to stop and repeat that time, even if it’s only 20s.

Zone 2: Easy

Long runs are key. Fuel and hydrate well & join a group if you can.

Heat and wind again , , ,slow pace . Knees and legs , do not like slow pace ,rather do more quick shorter runs , they take less out of me ie 3x 7 k . I know itโ€™s not the norm , but a slow pace doesnโ€™t suit my style of running only 65 minutes
I’ll bear that in mind. Are you set on doing another marathon though? Because really easy runs are the staple for that. I think we have more potential in improving your 5k and 10k times, and getting really good age grades for those. It would mean less of these long arduous runs and more speed work which might suit you better? Have a think.

Zone 2: Easy

If you have accurate heart rate data that is far and away the best guide for this run. Stay in Zone 2 if you can.

Sorry no points for me , I wanted to give the 5k tomorrow my best , if I had to run even slow for an hour it would be detrimental . Back to my schedule next week promise
No worries, appreciate the honesty.

Zone 2: Easy

Running with others can reduce perceived effort so parkrun is a good option as an alternative speed session. 10 mins easy WU & CD please.

Yes I ran the Horsham , 5k. . Not a bad time , for race, legs were fine , didnโ€™t feel at my best , but not too bad bad no niggles no problems
Great work Allan. Tough one that I believe.
