Race Sunday? We’ll be there, albeit marshalling not racing. I plan to be at track Monday too. Jax might even come along as Lou is taking the session so hopefully won’t be too bad.. 3 days of beautiful rest ahead of the race Sunday, so plenty to look forward too. Any issues let me know. Keep up the great work Allan.

Always a favourite with the team! Keep that first rep at 5k pace and then start to ramp up that speed. Enjoy!

Pace looked solid. It was all a bit confusing last night. Hopefully we all do the same going forward.

If some of the sets/reps are too demanding at first, just do what you can, you can always build up to 60s slowly. Wall sits and planks in particular can be tough, so just go to the point you feel you need to stop and repeat that time, even if it’s only 20s.

Well done Allan

Zone 2: Easy

If you have accurate heart rate data that is far and away the best guide for this run. Stay in Zone 2 if you can.

Keeping at an easy pace ,a bit quicker than before , kept at a steady pace, despite the wind and the gradient. No niggles now rest mainly until the race Sunday
Awesome work Allan. Great job again. Nice few days rest ahead of Sunday now.

WU is key. CD not as important, but if you have done a fast 10 miles it’s recommended. Also if going for a quick one including drills and strides (4 bonus pts) is worth while too.

Knowing your goal pace beforehand is important and ensuring you don’t go off too quick is crucial. Obviously that will be determined by the elevation of the route. But I’m always happy to discuss pacing strategies and race tactics beforehand.

Good Luck!! You got this πŸ’ͺ

Very hard didn’t manage any goal time at any stage even at the first 5k I lost 8 minutes in the second 5 miles, I will have to keep away from from hills ups and down , couldn’t even make up any time running down , I will concentrate on the quicker flat courses . That I like so when people say to me do I like running I can say Y E S . I will of course run lots of Hastings races but more for training ok
That’s fine. We can learn from today and not make this mistake again. Focus on the flatter races. I’ve no problem with that and think it is a sensible move going forward. Well done for completing it though.
