No circuits this week which might be a good thing. The handicap race. It’s normal to feel nervous but to be honest, anyone that has run a strong 5k this year virtually has zero chance in this race, because someone unknown will beat their handicap by a few minutes. I ran a PB last year and beat my handicap by over 10 seconds, 20+ runners beat me 🤷♂️ So that should help calm the nerves a little. The week looks hectic because it’s bookended by rest days. So it’s not actually that intense in terms of pts. So hopefully all goes well. Any issues just let me know. Keep up the great work Emily.

Recoveries: Take 2-3 mins after the 8 min rep and 60s in between the 60 second reps.
A tough 5k session and the challenge is to see if you can hold your 5k pace in the 2nd 8 min rep when the legs are tired and you’re feeling fatigued.
Keep the effort level down on these easy runs and focus on good running mechanics. Strides are essential here, not optional 😉
Let me know if you can merge the two sessions you currently do into one and if you send me a screenshot of the exercises I can then add them to this page.
A good way to smash out some cardio in just 30 mins. You should find you get a good sweat on doing this session.
Let me know how you get on with this. If you need to tweak any of the reps and weights slightly then that is fine. I can change them on here if you want me to.
