The big one Monday (training session). Doing it in the same kit you plan to wear on race day is smart, along with a similar fuelling strategy. In that final 5km, imagine yourself in that final 5km of the race and how hard that will be. We also have a decent session Thursday just to keep some speed in the legs before wrapping it up with a nice easy run. Any issues let me know.

A good session to practice goal pace. Likely to be one of the biggest sessions in your half marathon training plan.

Tough session, esp those last 5km (as reflected in my splits). Bit disappointed I couldn’t maintain sub 4.30 pace. Took on a bit too much liquid at once around 15k and got a bit of a stitch as a result. Heart rate registered dodgy on my watch, so haven’t included it below.
It is a really tough session and I wouldn’t worry too much as the difference it makes running with others around you can be huge and drops the perceived effort. Perhaps a little nod that being smart with your early race pace next week is going to be sensible. Obviously this has been a very short plan with a few interruptions but hopefully you are still prepared to run a strong half next week.

Great session inspired by the Running Channel. Bit of a threshold session in disguise as you should find heart rate never gets beyond Zone 5. It’s doesn’t need to. Should feel comfortably hard. Keep the 400s at 5k pace for that same reason.

Keep this nice and easy. Focus on good form & efficient running economy. RPE should be around the 3/10 which means you can run and chat.
