After your fantastic run at Bewl I am questioning whether I can push you a bit harder already? So let’s tick this week off and see how you feel at the end. If you want more miles, just say, the plan is always adaptable and that’s the best thing about working with a proactive coach, at any stage we can tweak things to make sure the training is right for you. For now, keep building that aerobic base and strength, the two key elements to do well at Beachy Head. Any issues, let me know.

Zone 2: Easy

It’s important to keep the easy runs easy. Focus on good running form and low heart rate.

Joined a trail run group, didn’t quite get the distance in but did run at least
No worries. Nice to run with others. Thanks for the feedback. Personally and some of the team do this. If possible, even if running with a group, add on the extra at the end. This might happen a lot in plans where by your run is slightly longer than that of the group. Doing the extra either before or after is a good habit to get into, because it those extra mins which are the different between improving or just maintaining current fitness levels.

If some of the sets/reps are too demanding at first, just do what you can, you can always build up to 60s slowly. Wall sits and planks in particular can be tough, so just go to the point you feel you need to stop and repeat that time, even if it’s only 20s.

Well done Amy. These are flexible if you want to change them at any point. I tend to use mine as a guide and every now and again replace a few exercises. The key is the consistency week in week out of working our key muscles.

The biggest mistake we can make with these recovery runs is running too fast. This will mean when our harder sessions come round we are still fatigued and not able to put enough effort in to make the necessary gains.

Did stretches , no run
Hope everything is ok?

Always fun to train in a group. Ask for help if unsure on your technique on the exercises.

No class, was away camping. Last week had some curve balls. Apologies for tardy filling out feedback. This week I am going to make up for lost gym class, going first thing Wednesday morning and will do the same again to make up for missing Sundays session. Next week we are walking offas dyke path, doing about 25k a day for three days mon -weds. Can run and workout for the rest of the week Thurs – Sunday Cheers Simon
I wouldn’t worry too much about chasing all missed sessions as that can often lead to problems. You end up the risk of over training in a week and that is often when injuries occur. In terms of the walking next week. I’ve made notes on the plan spreadsheet but I would say let’s see how you feel afterwards. Given you Beachy Head goal or that time on feet is still going to bring some really good benefits even if that isn’t reflected in the training points earned. In fact I will probably credit some pts for those walks
