A lighter week because we have the Pier to Pier on Sunday. I have a game plan for that race so you could just follow me if you wanted. I plan to go off easy, then pick up the pace towards the end. This is the final week of this current training plan. So please let me know if you would like to continue. You are due a week off after the Pier to Pier though, which is well deserved. Any problems let me know Patrick.

A great 5k session to improve speed. Don’t got off too quick, so focus on your pace in those first few reps, then you’ll get an idea of how far you can run each rep. We want to be ahead of our current 5k pace though. From there you can then pick up the pace and cadence for the 1 minute reps.

Another fantastic session Patrick. These are clearly making a difference.

It’s important to keep the easy runs easy. Focus on good running form and low heart rate.

Excellent work Patrick, just what we needed a few days before the P2P

The Pier to Pier. What a race. Unless you are really pushing for a quick time, in which case, go hard early (need to be well trained for this strategy), my advice is slowly build the pace and work your way through the Zones. But you certainly don’t want to be quicker than half marathon pace until late in the race.

Brilliant, what a run. And congratulations on winning the Improvers Award for this race. Really well deserved for your hard work.
