40 Mins Run
Zone 2
The biggest mistake we can make with these recovery runs is running too fast. This will mean when our harder sessions come round we are still fatigued and not able to put enough effort in to make the necessary gains.
With Bewl on Sunday we want to keep the other 2 runs super easy. In fact if you feel tired during the week you could actually ditch the 2nd run this week. See how you feel. The home workout I can tweak. Depending on what equipment you have or what areas you want to focus on I can change that at any stage. Ideally we want the easy runs to be super easy this week and then a walk/run approach to Bewl will serve you well. Any questions, or issues with the schedule, let me know. Let’s get this plan off to a great start.

A stretching routine you can do daily to help with your flexibility. 30 seconds for each stretch is plenty.
*reps/seconds on both sides
If some of the sets/reps are too demanding at first, just do what you can, you can always build up to 60s slowly. Wall sits and planks in particular can be tough, so just go to the point you feel you need to stop and repeat that time, even if it’s only 20s.

This is likely to be Bewl 15 as it’s the only 15 mile race I know of. Marathon pace is a good target here as the trails and likely warm conditions will slow you down a fraction, not to mention the hills late on.
