Not too disappointed with that. Of course I went off too quickly but rather than slow down I stuck with it as it felt very comfortable. And then, predictably paid the price in the 2nd half. But all said and done, I couldn’t have prepared any better. I just need to curb my enthusiasm next time! Managed to hold back time for another year.
Firstly, brilliant time. Even if it wasn’t quite what you wanted. That’s still a fantastic run. I think in truth you came to me off the back of a fairly light period of training, and 12 weeks for us to have teamed up, sounds plenty, but it’s not actually that long a block. What I think we’ve achieved in this period is excellent though and laid down the foundations for moving forward and getting even quicker. Many of my runners like Conal have taken a while to hit their peak, Conal is on his 5th plan now, and whilst that does require a little extra patience it means you continue to progress. If we continue to take those steps forward over the next 12 months or so it’s going to be a bloody good journey to go on, tough? Of course, but that will only make it even more rewarding. In terms of going off too quick? Yes, but only ever so fractionally. I don’t think we can be disappointed with that. Hopefully you still had a fantastic weekend overall. Great work Steve. Onwards and upwards.
