Weekend off. Ministry of Sound? Solid week, 1 short of 100, so perhaps sneak an extra 30 mins and 20 seconds in there somewhere to creep into three figures. I’ve got track on my schedule, so will hopefully see you there, unless they set a shit session then I will head to the park instead 😂

It all depends on the nature of the session as to how hard you want to work. The longer the reps, the slightly slower the pace will be. Or if doing hills, focus on RPE rather than pace. But you always want to be working hard to ensure you make the necessary gains.

Track completed 👍🏼 5k pace all reps (killer) Was a very rushed session 🥴🙄 Can you explain how if find the information for the extra bits I’ve used my avg on Strava not sure if that’s right
Great stuff Chrissie, yeah the average is always good. So what this tells us is pace was in Zone 7 (Awesome) and HR was average of (Zone 5), even better. HR stats can be a bit misleading but looking closer it shows you maxed at 181, so very close to your top limit, showing you worked hard. When I did my efforts last week on the trails, in my last rep I was dying, or it felt like it, as well as beaten eaten alive by mozzies. I still had 4 mins of the 8 minute rep to go and was questioning my life choices. But then I looked at my HR and it was still 7 beats below my Max, so I told myself to stop whining like a girl and work harder 😂 The last stat is effort level. So how hard do you think you worked out of 10. Some days might feel tougher than others for example. These stats are good cos we can look back at them in say 4 weeks time and see if they have improved.

Hopefully you can smash this out in 20 mins. If you pair some of the exercises together. So for example do the seated calf raises and then rather than sit around for 60s waited for the next set, do a plank and then switch back to the Bent Knee Calf Raises. This is referred to as supersets in the gym world.

Session done! Was going to do a treadmill run but my child decided she was going to take a tumble and we had to go to a & e 🫣🥴 she’s ok luckily nothing broken just bruised
Oh no. That’s not good. But glad she is ok. Coaching Year 7s and 8s on the trails I am starting to realise they are good at falling over and hurting themselves.

Zone 7: 3K

If you have an accurate heart rate, then use that as your main data to determine pace, if not RPE is the best option. Hills are always going to cause them to go too high, unless you are super fit. Finish off with some strides.

50 mins this morning with strides Missed W2R 25 mins treadmill this evening
So an extra 15 mins? Nicely done Chrissie. Bossing it.

Sorry had to swop my days around 🥴
No worries. I always get a few messages on Thursday and unless someone is ringing me cos they’ve fallen into a hole on their run and cannot get out, I generally just ignore them. That hasn’t happened by the way, yet.

A good way to boost cardio whilst reducing the risk of injury. To get your heart rate into zone 2 you’ll probably find you need to work quite hard but that’s a good thing.

Hate it when the machines break. But well done for finding the alternative and doing a bit extra to make the difference. Another strong day of training. Well done Chrissie

You said you was going to rename these days lol 😂 Day at festivals up at 5am back home at 4:30pm ….. with two medals in tow so made it worthwhile 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️🤣
I got up at 5am once. Didn’t like it. Not done it since. But your daughter will be forever grateful for you supporting her like this. So it’s worth it.

5 miles is a really tough distance to get right. Rest assured, this is tough. The first mile is so important, don’t go off too quick and you’ll set yourself up for a strong race. Pace should be right at the top of your Zone 5, 10k target. Towards the end you’ll be working in Zone 6 though from an RPE and heart rate perspective.

What an absolute shocker…… no more trail races for me for sure! Rolled my ankle with 1 mile to go so had to walk in (cried like a baby 🫣🥴 Need to clear my head and move on! But currently feeling like a failure ☹️
As I said in the message. Fuck Bewl. It’s just one of those races. I had a similar experience last year. The seaford 10k. Wanted a PB. It was windy. Blew up rotten, felt like I was running in treacle into the wind. Was so upset at the end at my time, questions what I was doing. 2 weeks later ran my best ever race at the Hastings 5 Miler. Hope the ankle recovers soon. Trail running is not for everyone. Well done for hitting the weekly target. And you know what that means?? 5 stars!!!! Let’s go!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
