If you did want to run easy with Hannah at track on Monday that would be fine. Then we have two quick 5ks this week to get some speed in the legs, just make sure the long run is super easy as a result, as the Good Half is fast approaching. Let’s make this is a great week, any issues let me know. Keep working hard Allan.

A really good home workout for the core and legs. If new to this, don’t worry about hitting the seconds or reps. Do what you can and slowly build up to the targets.

For example you might find you can only hold a plank for 20 seconds at first, which is fine. Don’t push too hard that you get injured. You’ll soon get strong and be able to add more seconds.

No problem

I’m a big fan of consistent splits. With any race avoiding getting swept away with the crowds is key, so focus on that early pace and hold back, settle into a rhythm. Km 4 is often the hardest, so zone in on 4 and dig deep. You got this!

Long runs are key. Fuel and hydrate well & join a group if you can.

Yes 120 minutes before breakfast , I ran the first 60 minutes around my 5 k park circuit , a fair pace taking every into consideration then ran on the path for 60 minutes thatโ€™s why a bit slower ,roads to cross, ,badly made pavement tree routes and hills etc , no niggles
Great work Allan. Impressive in these conditions and sensible to get out early. Pace will always be slower on a route like that. The final stat, RPE is your effort level out of 10. How hard you worked? So it’s just an opinion. So on an easy run, it’s likely to be 3/10 but might have been higher this week due to the heat.

If some of the sets/reps are too demanding at first, just do what you can, you can always build up to 60s slowly. Wall sits and planks in particular can be tough, so just go to the point you feel you need to stop and repeat that time, even if it’s only 20s.

Running with others can reduce perceived effort so parkrun is a good option as an alternative speed session. 10 mins easy WU & CD please.

Yes very pleased with park run , weather still hot I ran slightly quicker then last week , after running 120 minutes Thursday
Awesome work Allan. Decent pace and effort in those conditions and a strong finish to a really good week. Loads of positives to take ahead of Goodwood this weekend.
