I’ve stuck with the plan as it was first set. But just wanted to say I’m planning on doing Romney Marsh 10k Sunday and feel like we are running at a similar level right now. So if you wanted to come and join me for that I can tweak it. I plan to do a 10k taper session Tuesday morning. Again the invite is there if you wanted to join me? No worries if you want to stick with the original schedule but just wanted to put those options there. I hope to run sub 44 at Romney Marsh Sunday (4:20 target pace)

A good chance to work on your 5k pace. If you can hit the quicker end of zone 6, then perfect. Don’t go too fast though, especially in the early reps.

Nice work Steve. Good to average under the 4:00 per km for the reps!!

A really good home workout for the core and legs. If new to this, don’t worry about hitting the seconds or reps. Do what you can and slowly build up to the targets.

For example you might find you can only hold a plank for 20 seconds at first, which is fine. Don’t push too hard that you get injured. You’ll soon get strong and be able to add more seconds.

Well done Steve!! 💪

If you have accurate heart rate data that is far and away the best guide for this run. Stay in Zone 2 if you can.

5.30 am is my favourite time to run. Shame that races don’t start that early. Apart from anything else, there might less competition at that time of the day.
😂😂 I’m too late to bed unfortunately, but trying my best to get up earlier. Well done on this run Steve

The biggest mistake we can make with these recovery runs is running too fast. This will mean when our harder sessions come round we are still fatigued and not able to put enough effort in to make the necessary gains.

Great job Steve

A good session to practice goal pace. Likely to be one of the biggest sessions in your half marathon training plan.

Struggled badly with the heat in the 1st 5k, so ditched the 2nd 5k in favour of being able to run the 3rd (parkrun) at HM pace. Thought that was a better option than plodding in the heat at an easy pace. So, in the end it was 2k WU, 5k @ HM pace, 2k easy, 5k @ HM pace, 2k CD
The heat has been brutal, so not a bad tweak to make sure you could run parkrun well. Still a good session and some decent pts banked.
