That really was very enjoyable and great fun. Very strong mentally and felt physically very good, apart from feet blistering up and my shoulders becoming extremely painful from carrying a heavy pack. I may do more of these long, solo, self-supported runs in the future, as they really give me a good grounding and remind me what really matters. I’m not bothered about the medal and the place I finish. Witnessing beautiful scenery and running through amazing locations is why I love running long distances, so I don’t need to pay £200 to do that. Very grateful for having the strength, health and fitness to be able to take on these crazy challenges. Thats it for this year though, apart from the races I’m already entered in, of course!
