We continue to push the pts target and up to 119 which is a decent total and laying down some good foundations so we can then push on. A very good routine with 3 runs, including some speed, 2 strength workouts and 2 swims. A great recipe for improvement but also longevity. Any issues let me know, but keep up the great work Chris.

“Rest days are key. Our body adapts and gets stronger when we rest & recovery. Have a good one!”

A nice restful day with the sunshine, didn’t do too much but felt surprisingly good after the long Sunday run – no sore legs or tiredness at all.
Quick recovery is always a good sign of decent fitness so that is really good news, glad you managed to enjoy some of the sunshine.

Swimming is a great alternative to running and probably the best form of cross training. Have fun!

If you have accurate heart rate data that is far and away the best guide for this run. Stay in Zone 2 if you can.

Moved the swim to tomorrow as I’m near an outdoor pool! Run this afternoon felt good overall but I did feel a bit lethargic after forty minutes but it was also incredibly muggy weather so not overly concerned.
The heat can make such a difference. My advice is the basic, stay hydrated and wear a cap to cover your face. Sunglasses a bonus too. But well done for ticking it off Chris.

A good all round workout you can do at home. Simple but really effective. If you repeat this twice a week and slowly add to the weights you are going to make some good gains in the long run.

If you superset the exercises it should save time and hopefully make it achievable in around 60 mins.

Nice swim out in the AM to loosen the body up in the sun – so much nicer in the current weather! just completed the circuits and feeling good – I think it was just the sun yesterday making me lethargic as I felt great during both the swim and the circuits.
Really pleased to hear you felt good today. I wouldn’t worry, these temps have been record breaking for the UK, so unlikely we are going to have to train in them that often. But another strong day of pts in the bank.
