Monday track sessions is a good one and again a chance to focus on a pace quicker than 5k speed. I’m planning on being there to run. Then we save the legs with a couple of easy(ish) midweek runs ahead of Sunday’s 5 miler race. I’m marshalling Sunday but likely beyond the turnaround point for your race, but hopefully see you beforehand. An good week with 2 hard run, 2 easy runs, perfect. Keep up the great work Shain.

24pts | 60 Mins Run Hills

24 POINTS

60 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2-5)

60 mins on the flat is quite different to 60 mins on the hills. So it’s important to differentiate between the two and if you do a hilly easy run, to account for that extra training load and how it might impact the rest of your week.

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

5 Miles @ 5 Mile Pace (RPE: 7)

5 miles is a really tough distance to get right. Rest assured, this is tough. The first mile is so important, don’t go off too quick and you’ll set yourself up for a strong race.
