Recovery week. Although the 114 target isn’t far off your 118 average, so you won’t lose much fitness, if anything and then we can really kick on in the next block. BRT Wednesday? parkrun pacers day Saturday, so another sub 20 attempt? Two really good sessions complimented by the easy miles and some strength/stretching. Just a sold week. Any schedule issues let me know. But go out and execute well this week. You got this Jamie.

A really good home workout for the core and legs. If new to this, don’t worry about hitting the seconds or reps. Do what you can and slowly build up to the targets.

For example you might find you can only hold a plank for 20 seconds at first, which is fine. Don’t push too hard that you get injured. You’ll soon get strong and be able to add more seconds.

Zone 2: Easy

Keep this nice and easy. Focus on good form & efficient running economy. RPE should be around the 3/10 which means you can run and chat.

A nice 90 mins ! Still warm, but did the best I could with pace to keep HR comfortable (apart from a couple of moments on the longer steeper parts of the run)
Liking the stats, yeah don’t be afraid to slow down to keep the HR in check. I saw Andrew Green (a sub 15 5k runner) posting 6 min kms on his easy run the other day. If anything running slower sets a good example for others.

I’m a big fan of consistent splits. With any race avoiding getting swept away with the crowds is key, so focus on that early pace and hold back, settle into a rhythm. Km 4 is often the hardest, so zone in on 4 and dig deep. You got this!

That was a really good evening 😁 There were a couple of faster runners in the team, so I had leg 1 plus final team leg. The weather was similar to rye, with hot going out, and headwind on the way back, but I pushed hard through the whole of both legs, and we ended 2nd overall and first men’s team! I even managed my fastest mile in my solo leg and first sub 6-min, then got a new mile pb a couple of seconds faster in the team leg!
I feel a little bit emotional with this one, because you’ve worked so hard, done a lot of solo stuff in our time together and made it work around the kids and your job. And this is surely one of the highlights, to produce that pace and land the W with your running mates? Just brilliant, I’m so pleased for you. What a brilliant run. I’ll share this on socials later. Superb stuff Jamie.

Nice, good enough to keep the legs ticking over but not too much to impact Saturday’s run. Well done Jamie

Running with others can reduce perceived effort so parkrun is a good option as an alternative speed session. 10 mins easy WU & CD please.

A new parkrun PB 😁 I felt more comfortable keeping with Jack this week, and pushed on at about 3.5km. Was definitely blowing the last km though πŸ˜†
This is brilliant. I think Wednesday must have given you a big confidence boost, knowing you can hit some fast paces. Really pleased for you. Congrats on the PB Jamie. What a week it has been.
