Another solid week as we continue to make progress. Over 100pts on the table again and the last week before we add in some element of speed work. There is the 5 miler this weekend but I think that would be a risk and probably too soon. Any issues just shout, but keep up the great work Dan.

A pretty challenging session working on your upper body and the core. Both are important as runners to ensure we continue to run with good form.

Zone 2: Easy

A good way to boost cardio whilst reducing the risk of injury. The elliptical can tone muscles and improve endurance whilst being gentle on your joints. You might find you have to work quite hard to get your heart rate in Zone 2.

All done. Evening session and the gym was empty they had even found the on button for the air con. ๐Ÿ˜Š stretches were all done Monday.
Nae bother, we will be in the gym around 11:30-1 on Tuesday so may see you there. Now I’ve swapped them round I’ve pre-empted you completely the gym session on this day, so given you 14 pts already. Don’t let me down now ๐Ÿ˜‚

Zone 2-3: Easy/Steady

Likely your heart rate will climb as you run up the hills, so don’t worry too much about drifting into Zone 3 for the hills, try and keep the rest in Zone 2.

All ok ๐Ÿ‘
Good to see you Dan, glad these runs are proving comfortable again. I think we didn’t quite get the hills we would normally so I have tweaked the pts slightly, but have dropped the target to reflect that. Just in case you were wondering.

A good home workout for the legs. No weights needed, but if you do have some that will add to the difficulty. Recoveries around 30-60s. If time is limited then combined two exercises together. So whilst recovering from squats for example you could be doing your calf raises. This could save you as much as 15 mins.

Zone 2: Easy

A great form of cross trainer for us runners. Keep that heart rate in Zone 2. You might feel like RPE is higher, as it’s a tough exercise, but a good opportunity to really improve your aerobic engine without the heavy impact of running.

Good workout feeling good ๐Ÿ‘
It’s good right? I’ve found the stairs tough in the heat this week and the first 10 mins feels like a slog but once I get into the speed I come off feeling strong. Great work Dan.

Zone 2: Easy

Long runs are key. Fuel and hydrate well & join a group if you can.

Stairs were hard work Friday like you said first part is a slog and then you seem to get into a rhythm. Could have done with taking a towel though. They have proved priceless and deff seeing results since using them cheers. Stretches all done and it was great to get 2hrs under my belt. First this year ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘
It’s great to have these little breakthroughs again and hitting 2 hours is a really decent level to be at. I pushed beyond that slightly this weekend and realised we don’t need to very often. But so pleased to hear all the gym work and magic stairs are paying off. Great work Dan and another strong week in the bank
