Super easy Sunday, especially if it’s hot, but we want to maintain that endurance. Tuesday with the team, Wednesday with the club, Saturday at parkrun, love the social aspect to your running. The community is so good right? Any issues let me know, but otherwise business as normal. Keep being a legend.

Zone 2: Easy

Maintaining your current 5k pace will get progressively more challenging as a session unfolds. So breaking it down in this nature should allow you to maintain that pace for the whole session.

Enjoyed this. Tired when I started but quickly invigorated.
Always great to see you and Nick floating by. Awesome work Conal.

Zone 2-3: Easy/Steady

Likely your heart rate will climb as you run up the hills, so don’t worry too much about drifting into Zone 3 for the hills, try and keep the rest in Zone 2.

Ran on Thursday. Very easy.
Nice, good to keep these runs nice and easy

A good opportunity to practice your half marathon goal pace during a midweek tempo run. Factor in hills and weather, which may effect pace, in which case nail the right RPE.

JUST REALISE I PUT THE FEEDBACK BELOW IN NEXT SATURDAY’S RUN. I,LL FILL IT OUT PROPERLY NEXT WEEK… Good run. Tried to run at a comfortable half marathon pace and was pretty steady at 7:05/ mile which isn’t bad. Just five seconds quicker a mile would be my goal pace for a 90 minute HM. Very comfortable. Ran with Dave Turner the second half and he was going easy too as he was in the middle of a long run. He put on a burst for the final 100m which I probably wouldn’t have done on my own so altogether a good run.
I did wonder why you had run so fast for a 40 min easy run 😂 This makes a lot more sense now. I will delete the other feedback. Well done Conal. Sub 90 mins definitely one of my goals in the next few years too.

150 Mins Run

Zone 2

All about time on feet. Don’t focus on pace. Instead keep that effort level down and concentrate on good running economy. Fuelling and hydration key too.

Ran Bewl. The last three years I have treated it like a Sunday easy run and done it in 2hr 30’ or thereabouts. Yesterday I wanted to push a bit harder and use it as a marathon training run five months out from Valencia. I pushed myself but stayed within my comfort zone. I ran it in 2hr 6’ which isn’t bad. I’d like to have finished ahead of Martin Noakes who was three minutes ahead of me but held back and went for comfort. Maybe next year I’ll go under two hours. Yes I am planning to run pier to pier and aim to run at about the pace I did Seville marathon earlier this year, so around 7’47”/mile. Hopefully that’s with the wind behind. It was a warm day so was tired at the end, even dizzy. Great day out with lots of HR Runners. On Saturday 18 July I am going to the athletics at the London Stadium so won’t be able to do park run on pacers day.
A brilliant time, so congratulations on such a good effort. My only concern would be it does lead us into “overtraining” territory. So if planning on doing something different to the schedule, please do let me know, as then I can tweak one of the other sessions. You have points in the bank so you could actually rest up Tuesday if you wanted? Awesome running though Conal, such a good time around there.
