A pretty challenging session working on your upper body and the core. Both are important as runners to ensure we continue to run with good form.
The Tuesday session the team are doing is a tough hills session. It’s a risk, as probably the most demanding session we do, hence why I have set something different and lighter again this week. We’ve got 128pts on the table, which is getting serious now, so hopefully everything feels ok and if we keep hitting weeks like this you will make some serious gains. Keep smashing it Dan.

A good way to boost cardio whilst reducing the risk of injury. The elliptical can tone muscles and improve endurance whilst being gentle on your joints. You might find you have to work quite hard to get your heart rate in Zone 2.
A stretching routine you can do daily to help with your flexibility. 30 seconds for each stretch is plenty.
A good opportunity to practice your half marathon goal pace during a midweek tempo run. Factor in hills and weather, which may effect pace, in which case nail the right RPE.

Likely your heart rate will climb as you run up the hills, so don’t worry too much about drifting into Zone 3 for the hills, try and keep the rest in Zone 2.
A good home workout for the legs. No weights needed, but if you do have some that will add to the difficulty. Recoveries around 30-60s. If time is limited then combined two exercises together. So whilst recovering from squats for example you could be doing your calf raises. This could save you as much as 15 mins.
A great form of cross trainer for us runners. Keep that heart rate in Zone 2. You might feel like RPE is higher, as it’s a tough exercise, but a good opportunity to really improve your aerobic engine without the heavy impact of running.
