Session completed today Friday as really had to jiggle things about last minute this week. Still feeling bit poorly but needed to get out today and run. Got out and HR monitor strap broke so had to just run on feel in the end. Actually felt good and got quicker through the run. Thoroughly enjoyed it and glad I dragged myself out, could have kept running 😀 Lovely stretches after 😀

I took your idea of yhe cross trainer and it was great! I assumed it’d hurt but it didn’t! I did 20 mins on level 15 mostly… left it at that today so I cokld use booty builder, ad/abductors, sit ups and various arm stuff… I will go back Sunday and maybe do an hour on cross trainer… what level shall I do? Machine controls were a bit baffling! So my quadtricep injury is just above my knee, which is why I initially thought it was a knee injury… it doesn’t hurt to walk but hills, steps or any speed start to either hurt, or just feel weird… which is probably because yhat muscle stabilises knee I think? Plus the odd massive twinge on certain movements… Anyway, I can keep going to the gym- it’s strangely enjoyable! But obviously it’s not equivalent to a 4 hour run… Looking on the bright side, I do think various twinges will benefit hugely though a short break from running… frustrating though it is!

Short Terms Goals

Practice shorter distance races – have entered several up to end May – icklesham 8k 26/4; HaywardsHeath 10m 3/5; Horsham 10k 10/5; Rye 10m 17/5; and Hastings 5m 31/5. Then 2 weeks holiday.

Get back the fitness lost while waiting for diagnosis (v little S&C, running, or other activity November to March.

Lose 2 kg (usually 55kg now 57kg

Up the cross training – still learning machines at Falaise but enjoying elliptical, recumbent bike and a couple of weight machines, all selected to not worsen the spinal stenosis.

Get my bike back in working order and cycle more!
